Terms and Conditions

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Effective Date: May 11, 2026 · Last Updated: May 11, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of santomission.com, the Santo Catholic App (also “Santo App”), and any related products and services (the “Services”), operated by Santo Mission Inc., operating as Santo Catholic Mission (“we”, “us”, “our”, or the “Company”).

By using the Services, you (“you” or “your”) agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Important: (1) Santo Mission Inc. is NOT a registered charity. All contributions are Voluntary Offerings and no tax receipts will be issued. (2) The Services provide Catholic devotional content and are NOT medical, psychiatric, psychological, or pastoral counselling advice.

1. Definitions

  • “Account” — your registered user account.
  • “AI Features” — features within the Services that use machine-learning systems to generate or translate content.
  • “Content” — all text, images, audio, video, prayers, devotionals, AI output, and other materials made available through the Services.
  • “Marketplace” — the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, or another mobile-application distribution platform through which the Santo App is offered.
  • “Membership” — a paid recurring or lifetime subscription purchased through the Santo App.
  • “Voluntary Offering” — a voluntary, non-refundable financial contribution made by you in support of our Catholic evangelization mission and operations.
  • “User Content” — any content you submit through the Services, including prayer intentions, comments, journal entries, profile information, and feedback.

2. Eligibility, Accounts, and Minors

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services on your own behalf. Minors may use the Services only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on the minor’s behalf and assumes responsibility for the minor’s use of the Services.

2.2 Minors

We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors below the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (under 13 in the United States; under 14 in Quebec; under 16 in the European Union and United Kingdom; under 18 in India and elsewhere unless local law sets a lower age) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information without proper consent, contact us at hello@santomission.com and we will take prompt action to delete it.

2.3 Accounts

You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your Account and for keeping your credentials confidential. We may suspend or terminate any Account that violates these Terms.

2.4 Account Deletion

You may delete your Account at any time through your in-app settings or by writing to hello@santomission.com. Deletion is permanent and your User Content may be irrecoverable. Limited information may be retained for legal, financial, or security purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

3. Our Mission and Services

We are a Catholic digital evangelization platform. Our mission is to advance the Catholic faith globally by offering devotional content, prayers, multimedia resources, AI Features, community features, paid Memberships, and the ability to make Voluntary Offerings in support of that mission. We undertake this mission with sincere effort and reverence for Catholic teaching, working in close collaboration with Catholic content creators, ministry partners, dioceses, parishes, religious congregations, and faithful communities worldwide, so that the Gospel may reach every nation, language, and people.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time as our mission grows and develops.

4. AI Features and AI-Generated Voice Content

The Services may include AI Features and AI-generated voice content (such as narrated prayers, meditations, devotionals, and translations). We make every reasonable effort to design, curate, supervise, and continuously improve these features so that the content they produce is consistent with the teaching of the Catholic Church and the Magisterium, and reflects the Catholic faith with reverence and fidelity.

AI-generated content is nevertheless produced automatically and may, despite our efforts, contain errors, omissions, or content inconsistent with Catholic teaching. AI output is not itself magisterial or authoritative and is not a substitute for spiritual direction, medical advice, or professional advice of any kind. You are responsible for how you use AI output and should independently verify it before relying on it. For matters of doctrine or spiritual direction, please consult your parish priest, spiritual director, or competent ecclesiastical authority. You must not use AI Features to generate content that is heretical, blasphemous, illegal, harmful, or otherwise contrary to these Terms, or to circumvent our safety or doctrinal controls.

5. Communications

We may send you transactional messages (account, payment, security, legal notices) necessary to operate the Services. With your consent, we may also send marketing communications by email, SMS, or push notification. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link, replying STOP to SMS messages, adjusting your in-app or device settings, or writing to hello@santomission.com. Standard carrier rates may apply to SMS. We comply with applicable anti-spam laws, including Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

6. Memberships and Subscriptions

6.1 Plans and Billing

Memberships are offered through the Santo App on a monthly, annual, or lifetime basis. Rates may vary by country, currency, and Marketplace policy, and are displayed in the app at purchase. All Memberships are billed and processed by the relevant Marketplace, not by us directly.

6.2 Automatic Renewal

RECURRING MEMBERSHIPS RENEW AUTOMATICALLY AT THE END OF EACH BILLING CYCLE AT THE THEN-CURRENT RATE UNTIL CANCELLED. TO AVOID THE NEXT CHARGE, YOU MUST CANCEL THROUGH YOUR MARKETPLACE ACCOUNT SETTINGS BEFORE THE END OF THE CURRENT PERIOD.

6.3 Free Trials, Promotions, Gift Cards, and Lifetime Plans

Where offered, free trials and promotional periods are limited to first-time eligible users, expire after the disclosed period, and convert automatically into paid Memberships unless cancelled beforehand. Promotion codes are single-use, non-transferable, non-redeemable for cash, and may not be combined unless stated. Gift cards and gift subscriptions are non-refundable once activated. A lifetime Membership is a one-time, non-refundable fee granting access to the lifetime-tier features for the shorter of (a) your lifetime or (b) the period during which we continue to offer those features generally; lifetime Memberships are non-transferable. We may modify, discontinue, or revoke any of these offers at our discretion.

6.4 Price Changes

We may change Membership fees from time to time. Any change takes effect at the next renewal cycle and will be notified in advance through the Santo App or the Marketplace. This section applies only to Memberships and not to Voluntary Offerings.

6.5 Cancellation of Memberships

In-app Memberships can be cancelled only through your Marketplace account settings (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We cannot process or refund Marketplace billing directly. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; refund eligibility is governed by Marketplace policy.

7. Voluntary Offerings

7.1 No Charity, No Tax Receipts

Santo Mission Inc. is NOT a registered charitable organization. Voluntary Offerings made through the Services are purely voluntary gifts in support of our Catholic evangelization mission and operations, are NOT tax-deductible, and we cannot issue tax receipts, charitable receipts, “80G” certificates, “501(c)(3)” acknowledgements, or any similar tax-deductibility document.

7.2 Nature

Voluntary Offerings are made of free will, are not payments for goods or services, do not entitle you to any ownership, return, or financial benefit, and are non-refundable except as required by law. Voluntary Offerings may be one-time or recurring (monthly).

7.3 Use of Voluntary Offerings

All Voluntary Offerings received are applied toward:

  • Our operations — staffing, technology, content production, and administration of the Services;
  • Expansion of our Catholic evangelization mission, including content, languages, regions, and outreach;
  • Applicable taxes and government-levied charges; and
  • Payment-processing, banking, accounting, and platform fees levied by service partners, including Stripe and other payment processors and financial-services providers.

We retain sole discretion over the allocation of Voluntary Offerings. No portion is held in trust or earmarked for any specific project unless we expressly state so in writing.

7.4 Cancellation of Recurring Offerings

To cancel a recurring monthly Voluntary Offering, write to hello@santomission.com or contact your bank or card issuer directly to stop the authorization. Any Offering already processed when we receive your cancellation is non-refundable, except as required by law.

7.5 No Promise of Return

Voluntary Offerings carry no expectation of financial return, equity, profit-sharing, or governance rights. Any acknowledgement, recognition, mention, spiritual remembrance, certificate, or similar token offered in connection with a Voluntary Offering is symbolic, has no commercial or resale value, is non-transferable, and is provided as a courtesy at our discretion without contractual obligation.

8. Payment and Disputes

All payments are processed by third-party processors and, for Memberships, by the relevant Marketplace. You authorise the processor or Marketplace to charge your payment method and agree to that processor’s or Marketplace’s terms. We do not store full payment-card numbers. You are responsible for any taxes, currency conversion, or transaction fees imposed by your financial institution or Marketplace.

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us at hello@santomission.com before initiating a chargeback or dispute with your bank, card issuer, or Marketplace. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us, or after we have offered a reasonable resolution, breaches these Terms, and we may suspend your Account and recover associated fees and costs.

9. Mobile App Distribution (Apple and Google)

The Santo App is made available through Marketplaces, including the Apple App Store (operated by Apple Inc.) and the Google Play Store (operated by Google LLC). Your use is also subject to the terms of the relevant Marketplace; where they conflict with these Terms, the more restrictive term applies.

Apple App Store users: you and we (not Apple) acknowledge that:

  • These Terms are between you and us only; Apple is not a party and is not responsible for the Santo App or its content;
  • The Santo App is licensed for use only on Apple-branded devices you own or control;
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Santo App;
  • Apple’s only warranty obligation, if any, is to refund the purchase price of the Santo App, if any; all other warranty claims are our responsibility;
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any product, regulatory, or third-party intellectual-property claims relating to the Santo App;
  • You are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or listed as a prohibited or restricted party; and
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Post or transmit content that is heretical, blasphemous, sacrilegious, illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or otherwise objectionable, or that misrepresents the Catholic faith or our mission;
  • Send unsolicited advertising or spam;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or to other users’ accounts;
  • Introduce viruses or malicious code, or interfere with the proper operation of the Services;
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means without our prior written consent;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Services;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or collect personal information about other users without their consent; or
  • Use the Services for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by us.

Violation of this section is grounds for suspension or termination of your access.

11. User Content

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes), display, distribute, and use your User Content as needed to operate and improve the Services, and to share it as you direct (for example, with a community or group you join, or as part of your public profile). For feedback, suggestions, and ideas you provide us, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use them for any purpose without obligation to you.

Prayer intentions, journal entries, and similar private submissions remain private unless you choose to share them. You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the licence above. We may, but are not obligated to, review, edit, refuse to publish, or remove any User Content at our discretion.

12. Intellectual Property and Copyright Concerns

We work in partnership with Catholic content creators, Catholic media partners, ministries, dioceses, parishes, religious congregations, translators, and licensors worldwide to bring you a rich library of devotional, catechetical, and formative Content. All Content made available through the Services is owned by us, our partners, our licensors, or our content providers, and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Services for personal, non-commercial, devotional purposes. The names “Santo Catholic Mission”, “Santo Mission Inc.”, “Santo”, “Santo Catholic App”, and related logos are our trademarks.

A significant portion of the Content consists of traditional Catholic prayers, devotions, scripture passages, hymns, and meditations that form part of the universal heritage of the Catholic Church, presented in many languages and prepared in collaboration with Catholic media partners, ministries, religious congregations, translators, and other lawful contributors. We use such Content in good faith, with reverence for its sacred character, and with no intention whatsoever to infringe upon any copyright, translation right, or moral right of any author, translator, publisher, or rights holder.

We respect the intellectual-property rights of all creators. If you believe that any Content on the Services infringes your copyright, or the copyright of someone you are authorised to represent, please write to us at hello@santomission.com with your contact details, identification of the copyrighted work, the location of the material on the Services, and a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised. We will promptly review the matter and, where we agree it is appropriate, remove or modify the Content. We address such concerns in accordance with the notice-and-notice regime under Canada’s Copyright Act and other applicable laws.

13. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, apps, marketplaces, and providers (including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, payment processors, and partner platforms). We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk and subject to that third party’s terms.

14. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms and describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

15. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES, ALL CONTENT, AND ALL AI OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

The Services provide devotional and catechetical content only. They are not medical, psychiatric, psychological, counselling, therapeutic, or pastoral counselling advice and must not be relied on as such. For matters of health, consult qualified medical or mental-health professionals. For matters of doctrine or spiritual direction, consult your parish priest, spiritual director, or competent ecclesiastical authority. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, contact emergency services in your jurisdiction.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, CONTENT, OR AI OUTPUT.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL MEMBERSHIP FEES YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY. VOLUNTARY OFFERINGS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN, AND DO NOT INCREASE, THIS LIABILITY CAP.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, pandemics, labour disputes, or interruptions of power, telecommunications, or internet services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us and our directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your User Content; (c) your use of AI Features or AI output; (d) your breach of these Terms; or (e) your violation of any law or third-party right.

18. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Voluntary Offerings (Section 7), Payment (Section 8), User Content licence (Section 11), Intellectual Property (Section 12), Disclaimers (Section 15), Limitation of Liability (Section 16), Indemnification (Section 17), and Governing Law (Section 20) — survive termination.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective on posting, with the “Last Updated” date revised. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance through the Services or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the courts of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before initiating any formal proceeding, the parties agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally by writing to the contact in Section 22. Nothing in this section limits our right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect our rights.

21. General

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. No failure or delay by us in exercising any right is a waiver of that right. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced on the Services, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them at our discretion. Except for Apple and its subsidiaries under Section 9, there are no third-party beneficiaries to these Terms. Notices to us must be sent in writing to the address or email in Section 22; notices to you may be sent to your Account email or posted on the Services. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
